West Ham Plot £8.4m Move For Swiss International Marksman

West Ham are lining up a move for FC Basel striker Albian Ajeti, according to Blick. The Swiss publication reports that the Hammers will offer in the region of 10m Swiss Francs (£8.4m) for the forward.

The 22-year-old missed the 3-2 win over FC Thun in the Swiss Super League on Saturday due to injury, but he has already started the season in very good form.

Ajeti scored a crucial away goal in the first leg of Basel’s Champions League qualifier against PSV Eindhoven. The Swiss side progressed to the third qualifying round (4-4 on aggregate).

The forward also got off to a great start in the domestic league, scoring once and providing two assists in the 4-1 win over FC Sion on the opening day of the season back in July.

Ajeti scored 21 goals in all competitions for Basel last campaign and was handed his first senior cap for Switzerland against Iceland in a UEFA Nations League group game last September. He scored on his international debut in the 6-0 win.
