West Ham Planning January Bid For French Midfield Destroyer But Competition Is Fierce

West Ham are interested in Nantes midfielder Abdoulaye Toure, according to reports in England. The Hammers are said to have joined the likes of Burnley, and teams from Germany and Spain, in pursuing the 25-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

The Frenchman is likely to be subject to bids in the New Year, with his agent Mark McKay expected to lead the negotiations for his transfer.

Toure is a regular first-team player for Nantes, having captained the side on a regular basis this campaign. He was also the club’s player of the year last season, leading to a great deal of interest in the player.

The Irons could do with another holding midfielder to take some of the workload off Declan Rice and Mark Noble. Carlos Sanchez is expected to leave in January, while the club failed to replace Pedro Obiang when he was sold to Sassuolo in the summer.
