West Ham Planning 17M Swoop For Former Man United Player If Move For Broja Falls Through

West Ham are considering an approach for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay if they can’t secure a deal for Chelsea’s Armando Broja, according to reports in England.

The Hammers have been linked with the former Manchester United player in recent months, and it is believed that Barca could make him available for €20m (£17m).

Broja is still believed to be the main target but there is expected to be a lot of competition for the Albanian international’s signature, with both Everton and Newcastle also very keen on recruiting the striker.

Depay looks to be a backup plan, and while the Dutchman would certainly be a more attainable option than Broja, there will likely be other teams looking to snap him up

Arsenal have also reportedly enquired about the forward this summer, although it is not clear how serious their interest is in the player. As things stand, though, the priority for West Ham is still Broja and the Irons are waiting patiently to see whether Chelsea will sanction his sale.
