West Ham Told They Could Have A “World Class Player” On Their Hands After Beating PL Rivals For Summer Signing

Ex-Sunderland and Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has paid tribute to West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus after he scored a crucial equaliser against Newcastle at the weekend.

It was the 23-year-old’s 2nd goal since signing from Ajax for Β£38m in the summer and Gyan took to Twitter after the game to say that he is seeing signs that his fellow countryman is evolving into a “world-class player:

That is a bold statement from Gyan but Kudus’s outstanding form over the last 12 months, which has seen him score 24 goals since the beginning of the last campaign, suggests he has progressed massively.

Moyes is now under pressure to start Kudus

Kudus has yet to start for the Hammers in the Premier League but, after Sunday’s display, he is putting pressure on manager David Moyes to name him in the first eleven when the team faces Aston Villa next up.

It was an excellent finish from the Ghanaian international versus Newcastle, with his control and hit from just outside the box salvaging a point for the home team.

It was a big coup when West Ham signed Kudus ahead of Premier League rivals

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United were all heavily linked with the player over the course of the summer.

There was even speculation that one club tried to hijack West Ham’s move for Kudus at the very last minute, but he eventually signed on the dotted line at the London Stadium. Based on his early performances, the Irons will be delighted they managed to secure his services.
