West Ham need to go all-out to land this superstar striker

West Ham are eyeing major improvements this summer, particularly to their attacking options, and the Hammers have been linked with an array of top-class recruits. However, securing a deal is easier said then done and the Hammers face a battle to secure the sort of attacking signings they need this summer.

Slaven Bilic’s side have lofty ambitions for the coming years following their move to the London Stadium last summer and achieving those goals will certainly not be easy, especially as the Hammers don’t have the same pulling power as the rest of the Premier League’s elite- which means they may be left feeding on scraps in the market.

That said, every now and again an opportunity arises to secure a big-name signing and West Ham may have that opportunity this summer, with the Hammers interested in Celtic striker Moussa Dembele- who enjoyed a phenomenal season with the Scottish champions last year as he score a whopping 32 goals in his debut campaign.

Chelsea and French giants Marseille are attributed with interest in the striker, who turns 21 this week, but a move hasn’t yet been forthcoming from either- and West Ham could tempt the striker to a move to East London with the opportunity of being the star-man.

West Ham will need to accept that Dembele will likely treat the club as a stepping stone for his career, as the French striker has plenty of top-class suitors in the market for his services, but securing him this summer would be a major statement of intent and would help the Hammers vastly during the next few years.

After impressing with Fulham and Celtic, Dembele is ready for the next step in his career but a meteoric jump to the likes of Chelsea may prove to be difficult and establishing himself in the Premier League first with a side like West Ham would be a much kinder development path for the youngster, who can look at Romelu Lukaku for inspiration.

Celtic will demand a lofty sum for Dembele’s services but the Hammers need to be prepared to spend if they’re to climb their way up the Premier League and become regulars on the European stage- and it’s clear spending money on Dembele would be a phenomenal move.
