West Ham are one of four teams keen on signing Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi, according to Het Laatste Nieuws. The Belgian newspaper reports that Crystal Palace, Monaco and former club Marseille are the other sides interested in the 26-year-old.
The striker is reportedly deemed surplus to requirements by manager Frank Lampard, and he will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer comes in for the player when the transfer window reopens.
Blues director Marina Granovskaia is said to be working hard to sell Batshuayi as the Belgian international’s contract expires at the end of next season. The London club don’t want a situation where he can leave on a free transfer.
If he is available at a knockdown price, the Hammers could well be interested. Manager David Moyes is likely to be keen to strengthen his options up front with Albian Ajeti the only backup for record signing Sebastien Haller.
