West Ham Make Move For Ex Hammer As They Seek Roberto Replacement Ahead Of January

West Ham have made a move to re-sign former goalkeeper Darren Randolph, according to multiple sources in the English media. The 32-year-old left for Middlesbrough in 2017 for £5m but the Hammers believe he would be a perfect understudy to Lukasz Fabianski.

The shot-stopper is reportedly on £30,000 a week at the Riverside Stadium and with Boro looking to cut costs, they may consider selling up in the January transfer window.

The Irons are keen to find a replacement for Roberto who has failed to impress since his free transfer arrival in the summer. David Martin has taken the Spaniard’s place in goal for the last two games against Chelsea and Wolves.

Randolph is, however, seen as a safer pair of hands, but West Ham may have to pay a significant sum in order to land the Republic of Ireland international. The keeper still has 19 months left to run on his contract with Middlesbrough.
