West Ham Make Contact With Roma Midfield Enforcer With Star Keen On Premier League Switch

West Ham and Everton have both made contact with Roma midfielder Steven Nzonzi after a possible move in the January transfer window, according to reports in the French media.

The 31-year-old is currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray but the Frenchman is looking to cut his time short after just six months in Turkey.

Ligue One side Lyon have joined the Hammers and the Toffees in registering their interest in Nzonzi but the midfielder is apparently keen on a return to the Premier League.

The France international has played in England for both Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City but it was with Sevilla where he made his name. His performances for the Spanish club got him a €30m move to Roma eighteen months ago but things did not work out for him in Italy.

West Ham are also looking at signing Gedson Fernandes on loan, but with Everton also after the Portuguese international, it could be the case that whoever fails to land the Benfica star will go after Nzonzi instead.
