West Ham are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon winger Jovane Cabral, according to reports in the Portuguese media.
It is believed the Hammers have made initial contact about signing the 22-year-old, although it is thought that the Cape Verde international could fetch as much as €20m (£18m).
That asking price would likely be problematic for West Ham, who are not said to have a very large transfer budget this summer and will need to sell before strengthening their squad.
Cabral, who has also been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks, generally plays as a right-winger; a position the Irons are not short of options in.
They recently brought in Jarrod Bowen from Hull City during the January transfer window, while manager David Moyes also can call upon Andriy Yarmolenko and Robert Snodgrass to play on the right flank.
With that being the case, the London club’s reported interest in Cabral is unlikely to be followed up with a formal bid.
