West Ham Look To Secure Deal For 29 Year Old With £4.4m Release Clause

West Ham have made an approach for Fenerbahce left-back Hasan Ali Kaldirim, according to reports in the English media.

The 29-year-old has a release clause of just €5m (£4.4m) and the defender is apparently keen on a switch to the Hammers.

Kaldirim usually plays as a full-back but can also play as a centre-back, a wing back and in central midfield if required.

He is currently captain of Fenerbahce and has 30 caps for Turkey despite having been born in Germany.

Kaldirim came through the youth systems at Kaiserslautern and Mainz but he never made his debut for the first team whilst in the Bundesliga.

In 2010, he moved to Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig before transferring to Fenerbahce just two years later.

During his seven years with the Istanbul based club, Kaldirim has made 226 appearances. Last campaign, he played 41 games in all competitions, scoring three goals and contributing five assists.
