West Ham Look To Hijack Bournemouth’s Move To Secure £15m Rated Liverpool Defender

West Ham are interested in signing Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne in the summer, according to Goal.com.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Bournemouth until the end of the season and the Cherries are also keen to snap up the England international on a permanent basis.

Clyne has made 12 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side after joining the South Coast club in January but it is said he could be tempted by a return to London where he grew up.

Liverpool are expected to hold out for £15m for the fullback despite his recent injury record and lack of games over the past 18 months.

West Ham are believed to be looking for a possible replacement for veteran fullback Pablo Zabaleta. The Argentinian has revealed that he will trigger an automatic one-year contract extension if he plays in 60% of games this campaign.

However, he has also said that he doesn’t believe he will be able to play as regularly next season suggesting a move for a new first-choice right-back could be on the cards.
