West Ham are in the running to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum on loan, according to reports in English media.

The Dutchman only joined PSG after leaving Liverpool on a free transfer six months ago but he has not been a regular starter under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Wijnaldum is said to be interested in returning to the Premier League in order to get more time and he has been offered to a large number of English teams.

Out of those who are said to be interested, Newcastle and Everton are thought to be the keenest, but the likes of Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, Aston Villa and the Hammers are also weighing up whether to make a move for the 31-year-old.

Wijnaldum was a key player for Liverpool as they won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020. He was unable to agree terms on a new contract with the Reds but he is highly regarded by their manager Jurgen Klopp. Whether West Ham boss David Moyes sees a place in his squad for the Netherlands international, though, is another matter.
