West Ham Line Up Move For Nigerian U23 Marksman As Pellegrini Rings Changes To Forward Line

West Ham are keen on signing Spezia forward David Okereke, according to reports in Italy.

The Hammers have been tracking the Nigerian Under 23 international’s progress in recent weeks and could step up their interest in the player this summer.

Okereke has scored 10 goals and contributed 12 assists in 30 appearances for Spezia this campaign.

The Nigerian generally plays from the right-hand side but can also play through the middle as a central striker.

Spezia play in Serie B, Italy’s second division, but Okereke has been integral in helping his team finish sixth in the league table.

His club are next in action on Friday night when Spezia face Cittadella in the Serie B playoff quarter-finals, with both teams seeking promotion to the top flight.

While Okereke could be joining West Ham, a number of forwards including the likes of Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez could all be leaving the London club this summer.
