‘I’m Just Amazed’ Journalist Shocked That West Ham Signed Target Ahead Of Manchester United

Journalist Dean Jones expressed his shock that West Ham United were able to snap up Mohammed Kudus ahead of Manchester United – and said that he feels the Red Devils made a ‘big mistake’ in failing to secure the Ghanaian’s signature in the summer transfer window.

Jones heaped praise on Kudus in the interview, lauding his versatility and criticising Erik ten Hag’s decision to not snap him up – citing the money they spent on Antony as a mistake. It seems odd that Ten Hag opted not to sign him, given his prior experience managing the player at Ajax.

What did Dean Jones say regarding Mohammed Kudus?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Dean Jones said: “I think Man United have made a big mistake by not signing [Mohammed] Kudus. I think that when you look at the amount of money they spent on Antony, from Ajax, and you look at what Kudus was available for at the same club and what he’s brought to the Premier League already.

“Add to the fact that he’s versatile, he could have played out wide, he could have played in behind, he could have led the line. I’m just amazed that Man United didn’t end up going for this player, recently or even before that point. He was there, he was up for grabs. Erik ten Hag knew all about him, they had the profile there and they didn’t sign him.”

What sort of impact has Mohammed Kudus had for West Ham?

While Kudus did not immediately win a spot in the Hammers’ starting eleven, he has been excellent whenever David Moyes has called upon him. He has played in nine Premier League games this season, scoring a pair of goals. Additionally, he has also netted a couple of goals in club competitions for the Irons.

His pace, physicality, adaptability and raw technical ability make him an ideal wide man to have in the Premier League. It seems that the Hammers have a real gem on their hands – add to the fact that he is just 23 years of age and Kudus has the potential to grow into one of the best wingers in the division.
