West Ham Keeping An Eye On Former Real Madrid Star With £44m Buyout Clause

West Ham are keeping tabs on Real Sociedad centre-back Diego Llorente, according to reports in the Catalan press.

A whole host of clubs, including Tottenham, Fulham and Roma are said to be watching the defender, following his return to fitness after an injury-ravaged start to the season.

Llorente joined Real Sociedad in the summer of 2017 from Real Madrid, with the La Liga giants keeping a buyback clause on the 25-year-old.

The centre-half’s buyout fee is reportedly €50m (£44m) but Real can re-sign the player if they wish for €25m.

At this stage, it does appear Roma are the team who are leading the chase for Llorente with the Italian side’s sporting director Monchi having already scouted the defender personally.

It is believed that Real Sociedad have yet to receive a formal offer for the Spanish international, but that could change at the end of the season.

Llorente has made 12 appearances in La Liga this campaign without scoring a goal or providing an assist.
