West Ham Keeping A Close Eye On Greek International Full Back

West Ham are monitoring Olympiakos left-back Leonardo Koutris, according to reports in the English media.

The Hammers’ Sporting Director Mario Husillos is said to have been in the stands as Koutris made his debut for Greece against Finland in the 1-0 win last Thursday.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini already has two fit left-backs at his disposal in Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku but the Chilean is believed to be keen to strengthen in that area.

West Ham made wholesale changes to the defence in the summer but did not bring in a player on the left-hand side. It seems that will change in the January transfer window.

Koutris has spent his entire career in Greece despite being born in Brazil. The 23-year-old moved to Olympiakos from fellow Super League side PAS Giannina for €600,000 in July 2017 and has gone on to make 38 appearances in all competitions over two seasons for his current club.
