West Ham Joint Third On List As Agent Fees Paid By Premier League Clubs Are Revealed

West Ham are joint third on the list of all Premier League clubs in terms of the percentage of every transfer fee paid to agents.

The statistics were compiled by OffThe Pitch.com, which analysed every player sale and purchase in Europe’s top leagues between 2017 and 2020.

Liverpool came out on top with 15% of all their transfer payments being given to agents, amounting to a total figure of €140 million (£119m) over a four-year period.

Three teams (Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United) were joint second on the list, on 10%, while the Hammers, Chelsea and Tottenham were joint third on 9%.

Leicester handed over 8% of their transfer payments to third-party representatives, while Arsenal and Everton gave away 7%.

It is believed that FIFA will implement a 10% cap on agent fees in transfers next year, but how effective it will be, in regards to stopping money from leaving the game, we shall have to wait and see.
