West Ham Join Three Premier League Rivals In Race For £8.5m Rated World Cup Finalist

West Ham are one of four Premier League clubs interested in Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida, according to Takvim. The Turkish news outlet reports that Brighton, Norwich and Newcastle could also make bids for the player in January.

The 30-year-old, who was a prominent player when Croatia reached the World Cup final in Russia 18 months ago, could be sold with Besiktas suffering from financial difficulties.

Takvim claim that the Turkish Super Lig outfit will demand around €10m (£8.5m) for Vida, who was signed on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev in January 2018.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers will indeed make an official approach for the Croatian international. Turkish media sources are notoriously unreliable so it’s wise to take this report with a pinch of salt.

Saying that, though, West Ham are having issues at centre-back with Fabian Balbuena in poor form and Winston Reid still taking time to recover from a serious knee injury.
