West Ham Join Chelsea In Race For £23m Rated German Fullback Who Scored 10 Goals Last Season

West Ham are interested in Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens, according to TMW. The Italian website claims that the Hammers have joined the likes of Chelsea, Leicester, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus and Inter in the battle for the defender.

Gosens had a very impressive season in Italy, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in 42 appearances, but it must be pointed out that he did play most of the season as a wingback.

Even so, the German would likely be an upgrade on Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku who both had pretty disappointing campaigns for the Irons.

Manager David Moyes is said to be after a new left-back, with Wigan’s Antonee Robinson having been heavily linked in recent weeks, but Gosens would probably cost a lot more than the American international.

TMW report that Atalanta could demand between €25m (£23m) and €30m (£27m) for their player; a valuation which may take him out of West Ham’s price range.
