West Ham Involved In Six Team Battle For £14.8m Rated Australian Playmaker

Aaron Mooy

West Ham have joined five other teams in pursuing Huddersfield Town playmaker Aaron Mooy, according to SBS World Game.

The website reports the Terriers will demand 27million Australian dollars (£14.8m) for the midfielder.

In addition to the Hammers, Wolves, Watford, Newcastle, Leicester and Southampton are also considering bids for Mooy, but there have yet to be any formal offers for the player.

The 28-year-old is likely a cheaper alternative if West Ham fail to secure the signing of Barcelona’s Andre Gomes. The London club have reportedly had am £18m offer rejected for the Portuguese international.

Mooy made 30 appearances for Huddersfield last campaign, scoring three goals and providing one assist. However, he was playing in a struggling team that managed only three wins and 16 points as they were relegated back to Championship after two seasons.

The Terriers are believed to be looking to cut costs following their relegation and with Mooy having just one year left on his contract, they are keen to offload him.
