West Ham Have Sent Scouts To See £28m Rated French Defender In Action

West Ham have scouted Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara this season, according to the Daily Express. The Hammers are one of a number of clubs taking a look at the 20-year-old.

Chelsea are said to be big fans of the Frenchman, while Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is also believed to have taken a keen interest in the centre-back’s development.

However, the Irons’s main competition for Kamara will reportedly come from Manchester City. The Citizens are keen to strengthen their backline when the transfer window reopens, and they are weighing up a move for the Marseille star.

The Express report that the France Under 21 international could be available for around £28m. Such a figure may prove too costly for West Ham, who are said to be limited by their £40m transfer budget.

It’s likely that David Moyes’ side would only consider a move for Kamara if they were to offload Issa Diop, who has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Tottenham in recent months.
