West Ham Have Scouts In The Stands As Moyes Eyes Ambitious Double Deal For Danish Duo

West Ham had scouts in attendance to watch Denmark’s 2-1 win over Austria in the Nations League on Monday night, according to reports in England.

It is believed that the Hammers were keeping tabs on playmaker Christian Eriksen and left-back Joakim Maehle.

Eriksen’s contract with Brentford is set to expire at the end of this month, and he has been linked with former club Tottenham, Manchester United and Newcastle in recent weeks.

With such a talented midfielder available on a free transfer, it is not really a surprise that manager David Moyes is weighing up whether to make a move for the player.

The pursuit of Maehle is also an interesting development. The 25-year-old is likely being looked at as an option to provide competition for Aaron Cresswell at left-back.

The Irons have reportedly kept tabs on Maehle for quite a while, having first watched him when he was still playing for Genk before he made the move to Atalanta eighteen months ago.
