West Ham fans thrilled as Hammers close in on Lazio superstar

West Ham fans are thrilled with the news that their club are close to landing £33 million rated Lazio forward Felipe Anderson.

Talks between Anderson’s representatives and the club took place earlier today, and according to Italian outlet CalcioMercato, Anderson is now close to joining the Hammers.

Talks were understood to be positive, and the Brazilian is keen on the idea of playing under Manuel Pellegrini, who was named as the club’s new manager last month.

Anderson will cost an initial £26m with the deal rising to £33m depending on bonuses.

Chelsea are also understood to be interested in Anderson, however the forward is understood to prefer a move to the London Stadium, and will snub any approach from Antonio Conte’s side.

The 25-year-old joined Lazio from Brazilian side Santos in 2013, and has since established himself as one of Serie A’s most talented wingers.

Anderson has managed 33 goals across the last four seasons for Le Aquile, including eight last term as Lazio finished fifth in the Italian top flight, narrowly missing out on Champions League football to Inter Milan.

And now he is set to become Manuel Pellegrini’s most major signing as West Ham manager as he looks to rebuild his squad after a disappointing season under David Moyes last term.

A good signing? The Claret and Blue army seem to think so …
