West Ham Eyeing Double Raid On Celta Vigo With Move For Slovakian Midfield General

West Ham are keen on signing Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, according to reports in England.

The Hammers are hoping to seal a £43.3m for teammate Maxi Gomez, but it is believed they have also held talks about Lobotka.

The Slovakian international has been in Spain for the last two seasons after moving from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland in July 2017.

Since then, Lobotka has established himself in the first team, having made 41 appearances last campaign as well as 16 in all competition this season.

The 24-year-old would likely come in to provide competition for Mark Noble and Declan Rice. Carlos Sanchez is sidelined with a knee injury and is expected to be out for a number of months.

In addition, Pedro Obiang has been pursued by Fiorentina, and if the Guinean does depart this month, a replacement such as Lobotka would certainly be required.

Whether Celta would allow two of their best players to leave this month, it is not known. The La Liga club are in the midst of a relegation battle.
