West Ham Eye Shock Swoop For 44M Rated Serbian Star Who Has Been Heavily Linked With Arsenal And Newcastle

West Ham are targeting a summer move for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in the UK.

The Serbian international, who was a target for Arsenal and Newcastle last year, is being considered by the Hammers as a potential replacement for Declan Rice.

Milinkovic-Savic has less than eighteen months remaining on his contract with Lazio and the Serie A club may have to reluctantly sell their talisman for between €50m (£44m) and €60m (£53m).

Rice’s potential departure does mean West Ham would be able to afford the 27-year-old but, whether he would be interested in a switch to the London Stadium, it is questionable.

David Moyes‘s side are currently in the relegation places and they would have to recover their position in the table to stand any chance of landing Milinkovic-Savic. In addition to the Gunners and Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder previously, so the Hammers may be biting off more they can chew with this one.
