West Ham Expected To Take On European Giant By Triggering Brazilian Ace’s 21M Release Clause

West Ham will challenge Barcelona for the signing of Raphinha if Leeds are relegated from the Premier League, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The Brazilian international could be available for as little as €25m (£21m) due to a release clause that can be triggered if Leeds do drop down into the Championship.

Multiple sources suggest Barca are already prepared to make their move if Raphinha can be signed for that bargain price, and it is now believed the Hammers are willing to compete with them for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Other teams, including Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been linked with Raphinha in recent months but West Ham are the club who have been most proactive in trying to sign the Brazilian.

They reportedly made a move for Raphinha during the January transfer window, only for their approach to be knocked back, but it seems they will persist with their interest this summer.
