West Ham United’s Angelo Ogbonna recently celebrated the birthday of his wife, Laura Marchetti – he marked the occasion by posting a photo on Instagram.
In the photo, Ogbonna is pictured alongside Marchetti – it is unknown how long they have been married, but it is widely accepted that they began dating in 2015 (via Oh My Football).
For the post’s caption, Ogbonna simply wrote [translated from Italian]: “Happy Birthday my Love !!!”
Currently, Ogbonna’s photo has just under 9,000 likes on Instagram. It has been liked by several of his Hammers contemporaries, such as Pablo Fornals, Nayef Aguerd and Arsenal transfer target Declan Rice.
Additionally, Gianluca Scamacca also left a comment on the post, writing [translated from Italian]: “Happy birthday laaaaa❤️🔥.”
As well as playing for West Ham together, Scamacca and Ogbonna are also both Italian – however, they have never played together on the international stage. Ogbonna’s latest Italy cap was awarded to him in 2020, while Scamacca made his international debut in 2021.
Ogbonna has not featured as prolifically for West Ham this season as he has in previous years. At 34 years of age, he is currently in the twilight of his playing career – additionally, his contract with the Irons is set to expire in the summer of 2023.
