West Ham Could Rival Newcastle In Race To Secure 68 Goal Arsenal Marksman

West Ham may challenge Newcastle in the battle for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports in England.

The Frenchman is out of contract next summer, and he could well be available for a knockdown price in the January transfer window.

Lacazette has been at the Emirates for four and a half years, racking up 68 goals in 176 appearances, but it is believed he is not willing to extend his stay with the Gunners beyond the end of the season.

Newcastle’s new-found wealth will probably make it difficult for the Hammers to compete with the Magpies financially but they can offer a lot more in other areas.

While the Tyneside club are struggling against relegation, David Moyes’ side are sitting fourth in the table, and are poised to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League.

With Michail Antonio West Ham’s only other recognised striker, Lacazette would also stand a fair chance of establishing himself as a regular starter.
