West Ham Could Miss Out As PL Rival Ready 40M Bid For Chelsea Marksman

West Ham are in danger of missing out on their top transfer target with Aston Villa preparing a £40m bid for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to reports in the UK.

Hammers boss David Moyes is said to be very keen on signing the 23-year-old but he is reluctant to match the forward’s asking price.

However, Villa, who are bankrolled by two billionaires, don’t have the same problem and they are reportedly lining up an offer that will satisfy Chelsea’s demands.

It remains to be seen whether West Ham will actually try and compete for Abraham’s signature but they are looking at potential alternatives.

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah is believed to be a genuine target, and he will be available for a much lower amount, considering the forward only has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates.

Other names, such as Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst, Genoa’s Giovanni Simeone and Burnley’s Chris Wood have also been linked with the Irons in recent weeks.
