West Ham are interested in signing Nantes striker Kalifa Coulibaly, with the player said to be keen on the move, according to reports in France.

The 27-year-old hit 12 goals in all competitions for the Ligue One side last season so the forward isn’t the most prolific of scorers.

However, it must be said Coulibaly spent most of the first half of the season on the bench before coming to prominence in the second half of the campaign.

In his 16 league starts between the end of January and the end of May, the Malian international scored six goals and provided three assists, which isn’t a bad return.

It was also effectively Coulibaly’s first full season in Ligue One after spending most of the 2017/18 campaign out injured with a torn abductor muscle.

With Nantes finishing 12th, just below mid-table, the Malian’s strike rate may improve if given the ammunition from teammates in a more talented team.
