West Ham Consider Swoop For Championship Shot Stopper As They Step Up Search For Fabianski’s Understudy

West Ham may make a move for Cardiff City’s Neil Etheridge, according to the Sun. The Hammers are looking for a new second-choice goalkeeper in the January transfer window and they had identified Middlesbrough shot-stopper Darren Randolph as their main target.

However, if the move for the Boro man doesn’t work out, they will reportedly turn their attentions towards the Philippines international. Whether David Moyes appointment as manager will affect their recruitment plans, it remains to be seen.

The 56-year-old has been given an 18-month contract and could have his own transfer targets. Still, the poor form of Roberto will mean the Scot is likely to agree with the club’s recruitment department about needing a new number two.

Lukasz Fabianski did return from a three-month absence in the 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Saturday, so signing a new keeper won’t be as urgent, but it’s likely that there will be a new recruit before the end of January.
