West Ham Consider Stepping Up Loan Pursuit Of Brazilian Marksman

West Ham are considering a loan move for Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa, according to the Mirror.

The Brazilian has been reportedly offered to the Hammers, and with manager Manuel Pellegrini concerned about the fitness of some of the club’s strikers, it is believed they are keen on making an offer for the 22-year-old.

Barbosa (nicknamed “Gabigol”), has recently ended a loan spell with Santos but he has no future at Inter, and will likely be offloaded on a temporary basis once again this month.

With Javier Hernandez out of action with a back injury, Marko Arnautovic struggling with his own fitness issues and Andy Carroll having only recently returned from a long-term injury layoff, the Hammers could do with strengthening up front.

Reports that the London club are also willing to offload former Arsenal striker Lucas Perez on loan would suggest that Gabigol could be targeted this month as a replacement.
