West Ham chasing exciting summer prospect

To say it has been a tough season for West Ham fans would be more than an understatement. The Hammers have found life at the London Stadium to be rather difficult in their maiden season away from Upton Park.

Performances have been poor, form has eluded them and now the club are subject of a police investigation. With the club struggling to find it’s way into the new era sold to supporters ahead of the move to Stratford, they must act to please fans this summer with some signings to smile about.

While most fans in east London have spent the season calling for a striker and a right-back, both areas that certainly need looking at this summer, there are other spots in the XI that also need a touch of paint this summer, with the No.1 slot being one of them.

Having began the season with Spanish shot-stopper Adrian between the sticks, a string of poor performances lead to Darren Randolph being given the spot before his form then began to falter and a number of mistakes meant that Adrian was once again back in the side for the 0-0 draw with Everton at the weekend.

With that in mind, the Hammers have been linked with a move for a new ‘keeper over the coming months, in the shape of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Lukas Hradecky.

The 27-year-old is a regular Finland international, with 34 caps to his name and is well versed at the top of the German game, having made 63 Bundesliga appearances in his career to date.

Whilst few fans in the Premier League will be aware of the former Brondby man, he could well be a top notch addition for Slaven Bilic’s side this season.

Frankfurt are having a much better time of things than last season, when a win in the relegation play-offs preserved their top-flight status. They currently sit ninth in the Bundesliga, and that is in no small part down to the performances of Hradecky.

In fact, only three teams in the entire division have conceded fewer than Niko Kovač’s side so far, and they make up three of the top four.

Furthermore, the Finnish shot-stopper ranks second in the Bundesliga clean sheets table with 11, only trumped by Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer who has 14 so far, not bad at all.

The ‘keeper, who is more than comfortable coming out off his line as a sweeper, is a fine shot-stopper and could well be a top addition at the London Stadium this summer.
