West Ham Attempt To Muscle In On La Liga’s Side’s Negotiations To Sign £25m Rated Spanish Hitman

West Ham have joined the race for Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias, according to reports in the Spanish media.

The 26-year-old is believed to be seen as a possible alternative to Maxi Gomez who turned down the Hammers to join Valencia.

West Ham are also locked in talks to sign Sebastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt but they may also be after a second forward this summer.

Iglesias has a €28m (£25m) release clause, and Real Betis are said to be the Irons’ main rival for the forward’s signature.

The La Liga club are, however, unable to pay the full amount upfront, and have reportedly proposed to pay €30m in instalments.

Whether West Ham’s attempt to muscle in on negotiations will succeed, we shall have to wait and see. Iglesias did have a good season last campaign, scoring 20 goals in 43 appearances for Espanyol, but he would be an expensive purchase.

The Hammers are also said to be looking at West Brom’s Salomon Rondon, but the Venezuelan could be moving to Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
