West Ham And Tottenham Join Battle For Moroccan Midfield Enforcer

West Ham and Tottenham are both interested in Verona midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, according to TgGialloblu.it. The Italian website claims both London clubs have been tracking the Moroccan international.

The 23-year-old is currently on loan from Belgian side Club Brugge, and with Verona reportedly having an option to buy for €3.5m (£3m) at the end of the season, it does seem unlikely that the Hammers would have a chance of securing the player’s signature.

Pedro Obiang’s departure for Sassuolo in the summer, as well as the likelihood of Carlos Sanchez leaving the London Stadium, does suggest a move for a central midfielder would be on the cards.

Amrabat has made 14 appearances for Verona in Serie A this campaign, helping the Italian club to a comfortable midtable position, currently sitting ninth after 14 games.

The midfielder has eight caps for Morocco’s senior side, having played the full 90 minutes in both of their African Cup of Nations qualifiers last month.
