West Ham are tracking Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara, according to reports in Italy.

Tottenham and Hertha Berlin are also believed to be looking at the Guinean international with the player said to be deemed surplus to requirements at the San Paolo stadium.

Diawara was previously linked with the Hammers back in January but a move never materialised. Since then, though, he has struggled for game time and looks unlikely to get back into the first-team picture.

Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout, but they will need to make room in their squad in order to recruit the former Aston Villa player.

It could lead to the Serie A club offloading Diawara who made 19 appearances in all competitions, making just 11 starts, under manager Carlo Ancelotti last season.

Ancelotti favoured the likes of Fabian Ruiz, Allan and Piotr Zielinski in the middle of the park, and Veretout’s arrival could move Diawara further down the pecking order.
