West Ham And Palace Line Up Swoop For Ligue One Star But Player Has His Sights Set On London Rivals

West Ham and Crystal Palace are the two English clubs interested in signing Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson, according to reports in the French media.

However, the 25-year-old is believed to be eyeing a transfer to clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham or Everton and he has tasked super-agent Pini Zahavi to find him a move to a team that matches his sporting ambitions.

Whether the Hammers would have had the funds to sign Sanson anyway, it does seem unlikely, with reports indicating that he could be sold for a fee in the region of €50m (£45m).

Marseille are, though, in financial difficulties and a number of senior players are said to be up for sale which could see Sanson leave for a much lower price.

Even if that was the case, a switch to the London Stadium always appeared to be unrealistic, with West Ham also keen on snapping up another midfielder, Tomas Soucek, on a permanent basis.
