West Ham And Arsenal Miss Out On Algerian Ace As New Club Is Revealed

Former Porto winger Yacine Brahimi has joined Qatari club Al Rayyan, the club have confirmed.

The Algerian international has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham over the past year, while Arsenal and Everton have also been talked about as potential destinations in recent weeks.

Brahimi was available on a free transfer following the end of his contract at Porto. The 29-year-old played his part as Algeria triumphed in the African Cup of Nations last week.

The wide man came on as a substitute in the final as Algeria won 1-0 against Senegal on Friday.

West Ham were unlikely to be in for another winger this summer anyway, especially with the recruitment of midfielder Pablo Fornals who can also play on the flanks.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini has a wealth of options in wide areas with Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko, Robert Snodgrass, Michail Antonio, as well as Manuel Lanzini and Grady Diagana all in the first-team squad.
