Anthony Lopes

West Ham, Arsenal and Newcastle are all interested in signing Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes, according to Foot-Sur7.

The French website reports that the Portuguese international is weighing up his options after contract talks with the Ligue One club broke down.

Lopes currently has just one year left on his contract at Lyon, and when asked recently whether there was any progress regarding an extension, he replied:

“There has been no progress. I want to put myself in the best conditions for my future. For now, I can not go beyond my contract.”

“My wish is to find common ground with OL (Olympique Lyonnais), but in football, we know that anything can happen. I’m not too worried, we’ll see in the coming weeks.”

Lopes is Lyon’s number one, having made 46 appearances this campaign, conceding 60 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets.

Porto are believed to be the favourites for the 28-year-old’s signature with the Portuguese club seeking a replacement for Iker Casillas.

The Hammers are possibly looking for competition for Lukasz Fabianski with Adrian expected to leave at the end of his contract in June.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are seeking a replacement for Petr Cech with the 36-year-old retiring from professional football after the Europa League final against Chelsea later this month.
