West Ham And Arsenal Deliver Ultimatum As They Refuse To Meet Scottish Starlet’s 5M Asking Price

West Ham and Arsenal will only firm up their interest in Hibernian left-back Josh Doig if the teenager’s £5m asking price is slashed in half, according to reports in England.

The two London clubs are believed to be keen on signing the 19-year-old but they have told Hibs that the Scottish Premiership outfit would have to accept an offer in the region of £2.5m.

Considering the Gunners have recently signed up Nuno Tavares from Benfica to be Kieran Tierney’s backup on the left-hand side of defence, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta’s side are still serious about their interest in Doig.

In the Hammers’ case, though, it is likely that manager David Moyes is keeping a close eye on the player’s progress, especially as he has limited options at left-back.

Aaron Cresswell played very well last season but both deputies, Arthur Masuaku and Ben Johnson, prefer to play in other positions so Doig would certainly be a useful addition to the first-team squad.
