West Ham Among Trio Of PL Clubs Tracking 30 Cap International Defender

West Ham, Leicester City and Newcastle are all keeping tabs on Fenerbahce defender Attila Szalai, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The Hammers have been linked with the 24-year-old before, with it being claimed during the summer transfer window that they had a bid rejected for the player.

Szalai is believed to be still very much open to moving to the Premier League and a switch in January cannot be completely ruled out.

West Ham are expected to lose Craig Dawson, who is keen on leaving the London Stadium for personal reasons, so recruiting a new centre-half will be on the agenda.

Szalai does have some pedigree. He has been capped 30 times by Hungary, while the likes of Chelsea have also considered making moves for the defender in the past.

At 6ft 4, he is authoritative in the air and strong in the tackle so he shouldn’t have many problems adapting to English football.
