West Ham will reignite their interest in Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Hammers are said to have tabled a bid for the England international during the January transfer window but, even though their approach was rejected, they haven’t given up on signing the player.

Phillips is not expected to sign a contract extension with Leeds and, while his current deal doesn’t expire until 2024, it is believed he could be sold at the end of the season if a club matches his asking price.

The 26-year-old is reportedly valued at around £60m to £70m so West Ham would need to break their transfer record by some margin in order to secure the midfielder’s services,

At the moment, the Irons are thought to be weighing up a bid of around £50m, so a compromise with Leeds may need to be reached. They will also have other clubs to contend with. Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool have all been mentioned as possible suitors in recent months.
