West Ham Agree 40K A Week, Five Year Contract With 27 Goal Hotshot As 12.5M Bid Is Prepared

West Ham have already agreed personal terms with FC Basel forward Arthur Cabral, according to Sport.

The Catalan publication claims that “everything indicates” that the Brazilian will end up at the London Stadium, with Barcelona having withdrawn from the race for the player. Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the striker.

It is believed that Cabral has been offered a five-year contract, worth €2.5m a year (approximately £40,000 a week) with Basel expected to accept a €15m (£12.5m) bid from West Ham when it is formally tabled.

The €15m figure is the same one that was reported by the Brazilian media earlier this week, so it appears that there was some credibility behind those stories.

Sport also say that Cabral sees a move to the Premier League as the best chance of being selected in Brazil’s World Cup squad. Despite scoring 27 goals in 31 appearances for Basel this season, he needs to be playing in a bigger league to be called up for his national team.
