West Ham Ace Turns Down £50K A Week Contract Offer From Turkish Giants

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez has turned down a contract proposal from Galatasaray, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The Super Lig champions are believed to have offered the Mexican €3m a year, approximately £50,000 a week, but the forward wants them to match his salary at the Hammers.

Hernandez’s current wage at the London Stadium is closer to €4m a year, nearly £70,000 a week, and it seems he won’t be leaving West Ham unless a club offers close to that amount.

The 31-year-old has just one year left on his contract with the Irons, and multiple reports suggest that the London club would like to offload the Mexican international this summer.

Hernandez scored eight goals and laid on three assists in 28 appearances last season, but manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to free up funds to spend on new signings.

The Hammers are currently struggling to match Celta Vigo Maxi Gomez’s asking price and the sale of the forward could help finance the move.
