West Ham Ace Nominated For November Goal Of The Month Award

West Ham winger Izzy Atkinson has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Goal of the Month.

The Republic of Ireland international scored with just two minutes of normal time remaining to seal a 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Atkinson will be going up against five other players for the prize, including Reading’s Tia Primmer, Brighton’s Katie Robinson, Chelsea pair Erin Cuthbert & Lauren James, as well as Arsenal’s Lauren Wienroither.

There were some excellent goals in the WSL last month and Atkinson is up against some tough competition, but you can vote for the Hammers star’s effort by heading to the website here.

West Ham Women have had a mixed start to the season. The victory over the Foxes means Paul Konchesky’s side have won four and lost four this campaign, sitting in midtable heading into Sunday’s game against Liverpool. They are seven points above the Reds so they will be the favourites to get the victory this weekend.
