“We Will Get Him Checked…” Moyes Makes Worrying Claim About West Ham Star’s Fitness Ahead Of Pivotal Fixtures

West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that Kurt Zouma will undergo a scan on an ankle injury he picked up in the 4-3 defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend.

The defender had to be helped off the pitch at Selhurst Park earlier on in the first half and, asked about the problem, Moyes said the initial indications are not good:

“It looked like he’s gone over on his ankle, his ankle has swollen up at the moment. We will get him checked in the morning tomorrow [Sunday] with a scan.”

Zouma has since been pictured in a protective boot, which indicates that he is unlikely to be available for the game against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

The 28-year-old is also a doubt for the Manchester United fixture this weekend, and there will be concerns about whether he will play any part in the Europa Conference League semi-final tie versus AZ Alkmaar.

Considering the Hammers conceded three times after Zouma went off on Saturday, supporters will be praying that the Frenchman has only sustained a minor injury, rather than anything more severe.
