West Ham attacking midfielder Said Benrahma got on the scoresheet as the Hammers came from 2-1 down to beat Newcastle yesterday afternoon.
The Algerian international had a difficult first campaign at the London Stadium, but he looked sharp in preseason and was excellent as his team came out 4-2 winners at St James’ Park.
Some fans on Twitter are hoping Benrahma can fill the void left by Jesse Lingard, who returned to Manchester United at the end of his loan spell in May. Others are waiting to see how he performs over a longer period:

Looks extremely comfortable. Watched a few of their friendlies and he was on point! Taking over for Lingard role the 2nd half of last year

Also based on his pre-season form. With no Lingard, he’s stepping up.

He's bulked up this season which should help!

There was a bet for him to get 10 goals and 10 assists at 40/1. Looks a tasty bet now.

Benrahma undoubtedly possesses the talent to play in the Premier League but his lack of end product during his first year with West Ham was frustrating to watch at times.
The 26-year-old will certainly want to build on his goal and assist against the Magpies with some good displays in upcoming fixtures versus Leicester and Crystal Palace.
