Watford V West Ham: Match Preview And Betting Odds

Despite it being so early in the season, West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is already coming under some pressure to improve performances after a difficult opening couple of fixtures.

The loss to Manchester City was to be expected but the heavy nature of the defeat, combined with the unconvincing draw against Brighton last time out, means the match against Watford this weekend has increased in importance.

The Hornets are, however, having struggles of their own. After a shock home defeat to the Seagulls on the opening day, they lost 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park to make it two defeats from two.

Hammers boss Pellegrini should have a fully fit squad to choose from with captain Mark Noble (dead leg) having joined Felipe Anderson (thigh) and Sebastien Haller (knee) back in training this week.

Watford manager Javi Gracia is also close to having everyone fit, although record signing Ismaila Sarr has been ruled out with the winger still not match fit following a late return to pre-season.

The bookmakers have the home side as slight favourites with the Hornets 11/10 to win at Betfair. A draw is 13/5 with Sky Bet while a victory for West Ham is 13/5 at 888 Sport.
