WATCH: West Ham Fan Defends Record Signing’s Form After Anonymous Display Against Sheffield United

West Ham striker Sebastien Haller barely got a sniff against Sheffield United at the weekend. The Frenchman was not helped by the lack of service, but the feeling is he needs to do more to get involved in the game.

Some supporters are demanding an improvement from the club’s record signing but this fan believes it is up to manager Manuel Pellegrini to get the best out of him and ensure he has players playing closer to the striker:

It is a fair point. Haller is not going to run past defenders, or terrorise centre-backs by making lightning-quick runs into the channels. The 25-year-old is a target man who thrives on holding up the ball and playing quick one-twos with his teammates.

Currently, though, he cuts an isolated figure up front, and on days when he doesn’t have the supply, he will look like he offers very little. For that to change, the form of players like Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini must improve. Will that happen? We shall have to wait and see.
