‘Was Arguably Our Best Player’ ‘I Thought He Was Outstanding’ Fans Praise West Ham Man After Cameo Role

West Ham captain Mark Noble put in an excellent performance after coming on for the last half hour against Liverpool yesterday evening.

Manager David Moyes opted against starting the 34-year-old, despite Declan Rice being sidelined with illness, but Noble showed that he could still do a job with his cameo role in the second half at Anfield.

The midfielder delivered a sumptuous diagonal ball for Michail Antonio, who should really have equalised, and fans on Twitter were keen to highlight his contributions last night:

Noble may not have the fitness to start every game anymore but he can still do a job when called upon. After replacing Nikola Vlasic yesterday, he managed to take control of the match and get his team on the front foot.

It wasn’t quite enough for the Hammers to get any points out of the game, but Noble showed that he can provide a useful option off the bench between now and the end of the season.
